Robar bolt .50 with a Nightforce and the biggest "can" that I have ever seen on a rifle. It also came with a muzzle brake. Kicks like a mule! Very different feeling from the Barrett's. This thing gives me some serious wood! I would feel sorry for anyone on the receiving end of this bad boy. Actually probably not because they ain't gonna feel a thing. :lol2:

I shoulda put a .308 next to it for comparrison. However in the first pic, the black pelican cases on the shelf hold .308's, some with suppressors. This damn thing is about 18" (Or the length of the suppressor) longer than those cases. Needless to say I need a custom case for it. :)

That's the way to get into the spirit of the season, Shooter. Congrats on the acquire. Where do you take a thing like that if you want to play with it?

Frank - not even a greasy spot. I think they totally vaporize. :lol1:

Just kidding! No animals have been harmed with this weapon. I don't want to upset any of the liberal, tree huggin, PETA types. :tup1:

Ya mean one of these?

Depending on which Barrett your talking about they are fun guns for what they are. But if you really want precision, this Robar IS the cream of the crop! Oh and FWIW - The Robar being a locking breach bolt gun has much more kick than the Barrett (Depends again on which one). But that is why there is a muffler sized "can" on the end of it. Huge recoil is not a good thing and I am not talking about how it makes the shooter feel either. And as far as size goes they are about the same size, but the Robar does weigh a tad less even with the 18" suppressor.

Actually two of those cases on the shelves behind the earlier pics are a couple of Barrett's and not .308's like I originally thought.

Here are a few pics to get an idea of the size of this rifle. While the rifle is long it is not so much just the length of the rifle but the overall girth of the stock, action, barrel, suppressor etc, that is really awe inspiring up close. Here are a few pics to give an idea of the overall size of the rifle. Sorry I didn't feel like unpacking and putting the Barrett together. It is roughly the same size as the Barrett M82A1/M107 and just a tad lighter with the suppressor.

This pic shows the Robar RC50 next to a 24" barreled Remington 40X .308 rifle. The Remington looks like a bb gun next to it. :)

This pic shows a .308 win round next to a .50 bmg round. FWIW the .50 bmg round is about 5 1/2" long.

It would make one hell of a can for my P226. Also for comparrison the Sig P226 is around 8" long.

Dan, that is not my home. It is more like my second home. :shades:

While nothing is fool proof, my home is pretty well secure as are my weapons. You would need some serious alone time and perhaps a plasma cutter to get to my stash even if you could find it. However, if you can get past the dogs, the security system and then the owner, well then I guess you have earned your prize for that day.

But whoever violates my home can rest assured that the owner will be looking for them. I am probably not the guy someone wants looking for them and I am very good at what I do. ;)

Here are a couple of my favorites. They are workhorses and not benchrest or cabinet beauties so they show signs of wear. :)

I agree shooter. i dont like people looking an drueling if ya know what i mean. If someone gets invited to my home they prettty much have had to know me for more than 6 months before i evenb feel rite about it. but trust me I am the same way you are i will hunt ya down and tickle your tonsils with a wisper of a shell. I am good at keeping her in the 10 range as well. About 9 years i had to shoot an intruder that came into a room thru a window at nite. so to this day i still worry about people.

Shooter,

I love it! I have a 1948 Moisson Nagant M44 with a very nice bayonet. It shoots the 7.62X54r.

What do you do besides play with guns?

I can't see the pics, but I love the descriptions...I have a 7.62x54 also, bolt action, and it kicks pretty good. Fun little gun. I keep a glock 17 with grip tape and a streamlight and laser for the home defense. seems to do the trick. I also have a little bitty m4 carbine .223 with picatinny's and it's a fun little piece. probably my fav pistol is my HK USP .40, although I shoot my Sig 226 better... Have a great Chrismas boys and girls!!!
