Seems to me like you "Could" us one of the standard drains with Kerdi ....assuming the plumber allready put the drain in. Kerdi the floor/walls and extend the Kerdi to the bottom of the clamping ring and secure the top half over the membrane. Yeah, yeah, I know....this really ain't the "Right" way to do a Schluter shower....but I'm just wondering if it would work.

Steve, you ain't been payin' attention. Schluter has a "hat" like the Noble Company one which accommodates an FHA drain. You end up with a "divot" type shower floor. :)

It's much easier to cut the drain out and replace with the correct one. :)

The kerdi drain is the best part.

Using kerdi without the drain is like drinking non-alcoholic beer.:D

A "Hat," John......hell, I didn't know I had to entertain!
