I recently installed a front porch on a 3" mud bed with black slate. I waited about 3 weeks for it to dry out. I then sealed it with HMK satin sealer per customers request.

Now the floor has lots of patches of a light silver. I assume that there was still moisture in the stone and the sealer reacted to it.

Any suggestions as to what to do.

I am going to use HMK's stripper and start all over again, is this the right thing to do.

On that same note, does anyone know of a sealer that is more user friendly for enhancing black slate?

I'm not familiar with this sealer, but their website says not to use s37 on exterior surfaces.Maybe applying some sealer to the silver areas may reeemulsify it allowing you to wipe off excess,i'd try this before doing a total strip.......http://www.hmkstonecare.com/residential/slate.htm
