Hi there, I am new to this site and have been reading your threads for the last hour. I thought our project was depressing, but I must admit, your horror stories are much worse than ours.

Anyways, we grouted our shower yesterday and (as I have since learned is common), the grout turned out way too light. This is a bathroom floor and shower. 4"x4" rolled travertine, tan colored. We wanted to get a uniform color, but not we have bright white lines spots (holes in the travertine) since the grout is so light. We are using a color enhancing sealer now to improve the color. It helps the tile, but doesn't really do anything for the grout.

I saw some mentions of tile stain but don't know much about it.
Is there anything you could suggest?

One last question. I have seen people saying YES! and NO! to using vinegar solution on rolled travertine. Which is it?!?

Replying to myself here. I found some information about stains that says you shouldn't use them on an absorbent stone like we have. I am actually going for a homogeneous color, so I might not mind if the tile stained a bit. Could anyone describe how powerful the stain is? It is like wood stain, or is it more diluted than that?
