Hi

I have owned this carrera marble table top from new about 3 months ago. Purchased at a marble / granite place. It has a honed finish and I was told that two coats of sealer were applied. We noticed these grey streaks appeared. You can not feel them when you run your fingers across the table and they do not wash off. The white use to look quite white. What is it? Can it be returned to the original look?
Hope this is the right category.
THanks

What do they feel like? Rough? Tacky? Raised?

Do you know what sealer was originally applied? Is the top mounted on a cabinet? What was used to stick down the stone?

When you run your hands across, you do not feel anything different at all, not scractched or raised or anything. I don't know what sealer they used. The stone is 24 inches by 35 inches and it is completely bare on the underside. I mean it is just laying on top of a small wrought iron square (12" by 12" ). the square isn't even solid , just a 1 inch across square metal . It dose have a rusty finish however. Doesn't match the shape of these grey marks. They were not there in the beginning. We just noticed them one day. Frame is connected to 4 skinny legs. No glues of any kind.

We didn't spill anything unusual. It has been kept pretty clean. My wife did read the newspaper on the table. But these marks do not come off with washing.

Carrera is notorious for showing up everything, anything undeneath, or anything lating on it or wiped across it,try using a stone soap or neutral cleaner,it might clean it off.

I used aquamix "Stone Clean and Shine" but it made absolutely no difference. I will try to place something underneath the stone between it and the iron base. I doubt thats the problem. Will continue to search for a cause. Thanks.
