Hello all....
I recently installed a tile countertop in my kitchen using Golden Yellow 12" granite tiles. The job turned out beautiful until I got to the sealing. Unaware that this forum existed, and uneducated on tile sealants I purchased a tile labs product (surface guard) from Home Depot. I have applied 9 coats, and I still get dark spots when water gets on the tiles. Is there any product that will actually work that I can apply over this garbage? Thanks in advance.

You couls use a strong alakaline cleaner such as Aquamix, that will strip it,then use a Stonetech, Miracle,Aquamix,Dry Treat or such sealer,be sure to rinse the cleaner off well.

Can the stonetech product be applied over the tilelabs ? I have invested so much time applying the multiple coats of the tilelabs I would rather just put a better product over it if possible. I dont want to spend a day stripping it off.

If you are going to spend the time and money on applying a new, good sealer, you might as well do the job right and strip off any of the old stuff you already applied.

The results will be much better and worth the dollars and effort.

Thanks
