Hi! I am new here!

Here is my problem. I have a 4 X 6 area of ceramic tile that has some stained grout thanks to my sweet dog Zoe :noid: Anyways, the grout had been sealed according to directions of bottle of sealer. Well, she peed, and it stained.

I have tried cleaning it with regular floor cleaner, and tried to bleach it. It didn't help anything at all. We plan on selling our house this coming spring, and it needs to get fixed. To I try and scrap out the grout :bang: or do I have any other options?

Please help!!

Thanks!
Bon

Hi Bon, Welcome! :)

Sealers do not protect against acidic stains.

Do a search on the forum for urine stains (or the like). There has been a lot of information posted. As you mentioned, replacing the grout is always an option.

would a grout colorant that I've been reading about on this forum be in order?

Hi Bon :)

It certainly would for future protection.

can I apply the colorant right over the stain? Or do I need to remove it first?

Hi Bon :)

I would use a product such as "Nature's Miracle" first (on the stain), followed by regular prep of the grout surface.

ok, I'm gonna bite here, as I've done an extremely small amount of tiling [6X4] and I don't know what the regular prep of the grout surface consists of. sorry :laugh2:
