My brother inlaw calked with silicone, the gap between my tiles in my bathroom and the bathtub. He put to much on and it started to fall onto the porcelan tiles. He thought the right thing to do was to wipe it off with a wet rag but, instead it started to leave a white filmy look on my black tiles. He told me to let it sit for 24 hours and try to wipe it off with soap and water. I just did this and nothing is happenning in the way of it being removed from the tiles. Can someone please lead me to a product that will get rid of this? here is a picture of it.Thanks

Trying to remove just the film around the edges will leave fuzzy edges to the caulk job. At this point, it's easier to remove most of hte caulk and just re-do it.

Remove as much as you can with a razor. I use a " wallpaper scraper with a fresh blade to keep the blade as flat as possible, and it keeps my fingers away from the blade. Cut into the corner once along the tile and again along the tub. Repeat as necessary. Once most of it's removed, use mineral spirits to soften the silicone. Let it set before scrubbing off with a scotch brite type pad. You'll have to work at it a few times to get it all off. Then when that's done, remove the metal marks from the razor blade with "Bar Keepers Friend".

Now when you go to re-caulk, I'd suggest taping off the sides of the area you're caulking until you're almost done tooling the joint. Then remove the tape and tool the joint one last time to smooth-out the little ridge left by the tape. I use my finger dipped in denatured alcohol to tool the joint.
