No interest that Haliburton will be running things while Dubya is in for exploratory brain surgery?
and here I thought that Haliburton had been running things all along :bang:

A colonoscopy :moon:

Well, I suppose a colonoscopy was called for after he'd been unable to find it himself, even when using both hands?

I was going to suggest that they may be looking for a Gerbil, but thought better of it:D

Jeremy,
You'd be more likely to find a misplaced bindle from back in his cocaine heyday, me thinks. Though, gerbils are a Texas critter, I hear?

I for one, am comforted by the fact that Vice President Dick Cheny will be in charge during President Bush's brain...er...colonoscopy. :tup2: :tup2:

Wonder if they found Tony Blair's nose up there?

Westie,
IF they do unearth that artifact, I am fairly certain that Mr. Blair's integrity will be buried several layers beyond.

Shouldn't we be really worried about what ol' Halliburton is doing in the oval office for those 2 hours he's in charge?
Document shredding? Pardoning a few more cronies?

Too bad no one thought to call for those missing documents now while Mr. Cheney is MOST DEFINITELY the Executive Branch? I understand their resistance though. I suppose that "meetings with the Devil" and "bathing in the blood of virgins with my pals" might be a little difficult to sell, even with Rupert Murdoch pulling every lever to keep the wizard hidden?

Funny how all the libs are screaming about the current stuff but forget about all the FBI files that the Dem. White House had in their possesion.

"The White House has claimed executive privilege over the papers, which have been subpoenaed by a House committee."
This quote was from CNN June 23, 1996. Funny how it's ok for the Libs to scream foul but they did the same thing back then... :moon:

And the elefants cryed fowl back then-- That's just how polyticks is played up there in DC. See, if they keep pointing fingers at each other, and telling the world how rotten and lowdown the other side is, they don't actually have to do the job they were sent up there to do. Been that way for quite a while now, and that's the way they like it.

Polyticks is rotten from the local level all the way to DC. Politicians, as a group, are amongst the most despicable bunch of people I have ever met. If they did you a favor, they owned you.
They are all liars. It will never change.

:goodpost: and a damn shame too...
Kate, if you're wondering what Shaughnns post meant, Cheney claimed he was exempt from certain things because he's not part of the Executive Branch... (yes the VP's office is most certainly part of the executive branch) It takes some balls to say that, and our other leaders seem to be lacking a pair for not calling him on it... Its very frustrating. :bang:

Thank you for the clarification of Shaughnn's post. Of course, I'll have to read that remark for myself.
The falsehoods have been coming out of the Oval Office for 15 years now. I remember back in the 90s there was a time certain papers were being subpoenaed and were no where to be found, until the first lady, now a Senator, found them on the mantel. Two wrongs do not make a right and somehow honesty and dignity must return to the Oval Office. The entire political scene, left, right, whatever, is very frustrating. I don't believe any of them know what the truth is anymore.

Kate,
It really is a shame that you've never met a sincere politician. I have and I'll tell you that it gave even more incentive to decry the majority who are not guided by such conscience.
I'll challenge you to look at George Miller from California through unbiased eyes. Forget his political party or any of the positions he's taken, if you are able to, and you'll find a man of integrity and commitment to the *people* whom he represents. Seriously look into the way he communicates with his peers and with the people he serves. Look at his history and the only time he's ever spoken of poorly is when he's being attacked on the partisan front. I'd probably say the same about Ron Paul, but I haven't met him yet. I had thought the same about John McCain until he caved in under the neo-Con grinder and let them define his campaign for him.
I've met others on the local and regional level who've also impressed me, and it should be very apparent from my rantings here that I am a die-hard skeptic. Sure, the bulk of people seeking public office are self-serving but, just like in any other profession, there are people who do it out of passion.
I'll challenge you to seriously look for the wheat among the chaff in your local politicians and I think you'll find a few more than you had thought you would. Just remember that good people sit on both sides of the aisle and it's important to judge their character separate from their positions if this experiment is going to pay off.
Best of luck,
Shaughnn
