View Full Version : I am drained!!!

When I complete this post, I am going to shut down (cold turkey) this damned computer for a few days. I was hoping this site would go down for the changeover so I wouldn't miss much, but oh well.

We (my family and I) are in the process of moving to the country (as if we weren't there already) and I have been working day (to simply survive) and night (to complete some remodelling at the new place prior to move-in).

The past two weeks have taken their toll on me physically and emotionally with working, preparing for the move, and trying to complete the remodelling.

Then, the horrific activities in New York, DC, and PA. I am emotionally drained. So I'm out of here for a while.

Maybe when I come back the site will be new and this whole terrorist fiasco will have been a bad dream.

A couple nights ago I openly cried my eyes out for the first time in more than thirty years.

I am drained.

Well that "few days" turned into a week and you know what, it didn't hurt a bit. The real frustration was in the fact that my mouse was lost in the move.

So John, what has happened with the site reconstruction, is that still on?

......and CHIP? Is that an acronym?

ie: Can't Hardly Ignore Phenis.

I just love that acronym, don't you, Art?

The site move is still on. Dave B., techie/brother-in-law has just backed up the whole board. He's loading it on the new site as a test. If everything works we'll probably move in a few days.

The only reason I have to shut it down is because it moves so fast. If it takes overnight, for instance, we could lose twenty to fifty posts. We need to freeze it and move everything that's there at the time. I'll let you know.

Glad you're back.

Actually I'm a Central Michigan Univ. "Chippewa" Allum.

Fire Up!!!!

Good to see that your back Bud!! I hope you didn't run into the nightmares we did in our little remodeling project. But you of many talents, probably blew through it like there was nothing to it!

Two days before we moved in, our refrigerator that came with the house (houses down here come with appliances), decided that 26 years was enough. I sure wish we had budgeted $1000.00 for a new one. Thank god for 0 down, 0 interest for 12 months. How does anyone make any money on those deals anyway?

Moving truck got here Monday, 7:10 am, Allied Van lines. Did a nice job. Now if I could get LL to put everything away and hang all the pictures, I'd be all set.

Just a little update from the "Old Chipster".

PS: Bud, thanks for not forgetting the "all important H"!!!

Given the choice of having to move or re-living my Vietnam experience, I'd take Nam. There were at least a few fun spots in that deal.

Thinking about it, it wouldn't be possible for me to move again. Simply not possible.

Hey CHIP,

Where did you find a decent fridge for only a thousand dollars? We also bought a new one. Always wanted one of those suckers with an ice maker, ice crusher, water spigot, and built-in water purifier.

Boxes still unpacked? Yep, we gottem'.
Pictures to be hung? Yep, we gottem'.
Remodelling to be completed? Yep, we gottem'.

I drove my own moving truck (rental) top speed 44 mph. Up hill, down hill, 44 mph.

Oh and did I tell you? My goddamn dog has already eaten a hole in one of the garage doors! That was after she chewed her way out of the chicken coup.

And oh yah, no more cable for us, just the local four TV channels. How am I going to survive without Bill O'Reilly and Jim Rockford?

Then there's the issue of trash removal. Hadn't considered that. Got a great deal though, a two yard dumpster emptied once a month for only fifty bucks a month.

Can't wait to see how I handle the snow removal issue. Stay tuned.

I got that one figured out.

I don't even need a shovel.

How the heck does a dog eat through a garage door?

So bucked toothed, it could eat corn through a picket fence?

Sure wish I could handle the big rigs like you!!

Fire Up!! It's almost Holoween!!!
