Hiya. I've got a pony wall in the baņo that's gonna be tiled over. I'll be using 12 in. marble and the edges where the corners meet will be bullnosed.

I was wondering, should the top piece (T) ideally span the wall and the vertical (V) tiles like this:

TTTTTTTT
V .....V
V .....V
V .....V
V .....V
V .....V

...or should the top piece be set inside the vertical tiles like so:

VTTTTTV
V.... V
V.... V
V.... V
V.... V
V.... V

I'd actually prefer the first way - I think it'd look better - but I think the pressure of someone leaning or sitting on the top tiles would possibly, over time, cause one or more of the vertical tiles to loosen.

Thoughts/ideas?

thanks mucho

Roberto

If it is built well and you make sure to get 100% thinset coverage on those tiles, it should work either way.

I do it the first way all the time.

Like Jim said, the tiles aren't going anywhere, stick them well and they'll do fine.
