O.k. I think my effloresence problem is gone. I tried 50/50 viegar and water and took about half away,so went w/ full strength on ALL the lines :( . Let it set on for a couple minutes then w/ a grout brush gave it a little scub and finally a rinse w/ sponge and water. This was yesterday morning, does it take a while for the lines to fully dry and all the lines to finally blend ? Reason I'm asking is this morning ( a day later) some of the intersections of tile are still a little darker than everything else. Is a normal part a the drying process ? I am probably a bit worried having the wife eyeballing the work as I go:eek: .

Yes, it does sound like you need a bit more time for drying. You really flooded th floor, so the grout was probably saturated. Take Mrs Carl out to dinner so she can't watch the floor dry. :D

Well its been now 2 days since I vinegar washed and pretty muck ALL the intersections are still alot darker then the rest. If I put the vinegar wash on the lines and let sit for 3-4 mins, scrubed, then washed w/ water (let it sit for a min too) and wiped, do you still think it takes a couple days if not more to dry/cure ? Thanks Everyone Carl

Hi Carl, :)

I hope there's more to this thread than I see. I'm not sure you had efflorescense. It might have just been grout scum on the surface, and the vinegar might have handled it. :)

Well ,I let it sit for the weekend and most of the intersections of tiles have still remained darker than the rest of the lines. I'm wondering if more vinegar or muriatic or sulfmatic washing and maybe scubbing those darker areas will blend the lines better. What does everyone think ?
