I have some travertine tile that was being stored in my basement ready to be installed this weekend. I had it up on blocks about 4 inches because sometimes the floor gets a little damp.. well during the storms I had a 18 inches of water down there. a couple of boxes got wet..
the water was certainly not poland springs as the rain water mixed with sewer water...
It is hard to tell if they are discolored as wet travertine looks differnt from dry travertine. I dont think they are bad since the water that collected in the boxes(they were those plastic cardboard looking onces) was only murky but I would feel better washing them anyway.
What should I use to wash? I was planning on setting up 2 - 20 gallon buckets, one to soak and one to dry.. any suggestions for what I should add to the water?
