I have what I think is sealer haze on my new red Kinawa granite counter top. It's still gorgeous even with the haze, but I would prefer it without. The tile folks applied sealer, but apparently didn't clean it up well enough. I believe that they applied Black Diamond sealer. I called the Black Diamond company, and the rep advised me that it would come off by rubbing with a soft cloth and "some elbow grease." She was right! I can get it off, but I have to really rub hard, applying pressure with both hands using a soft dry wash rag. I just don't have the energy to do this over the whole counter top. Can I use a powered tool to buff off the haze?

Hi Marvin :)

It depends how long the sealer has been allowed to dry on the surface.

You could do a TEST in an inconspicuous area with a buffer with a white pad or hogs hair pad. You might also TEST with a couple other methods. First try adding some of the same sealer used, and buffing off as you go. Another method would be using some fine steel wool (either 000 or 0000).

Get back to us, and let us know if any of these work for you.

What John said, however a good method might be to try the sealer and the steel wool together. TEST FIRST
