View Full Version : What to use over Aqua Mix Enrich 'n Seal
We used Enrich 'n Seal as a first coat over our Travertine. It looks gorgeous, but we think it might need a second coat. It turns out that we can't buy Enrich 'n Seal locally anymore. What sealer would be safe to use over it? Or do I have to order online?
I have some Impregnator Pro, but didn't want to try it withoug getting some advice.
Thanks

If you want to dry and rejuvinate the sheen you may want to go with the same sealer. If you just want the stone protected, you may want to go with a water based impregnatoing sealer,Impregnator Pro is solvent based, and there may be a reaction, but i'm not sure.

Off topic and not helpful questions :)
What color grout did you use?
How much did the enrich n seal darken your grout?
Thanks :tup2:

Jeff, i thought you were gonna do a test? :D
We used Custom's linen. We applied it before grouting to help with cleanup, so it didn't go on the grout. If you do a test, Jeff, I'd appreciate knowing the result.

Thanks TJ.
I'm working on it dave :) :whip:
Dave - From your comment I take it the Enrich 'n Seal is water-based? We haven't tried the Impregnator Pro yet. I know it's solvent based, but I haven't "experienced" the difference.

I thought it was solvent based...But these days it likely comes in both flavors. I wouldn't mix companies sealers....I'd just use more enhancer by Aqua mix or their impregnator. (you guys are talking IMpregnator Pro by Stone tech right?) I'm not that familar with Aqua mix...Used it years ago but that was when it would give you a banana flavored taste in your mouth and made your gums numb....even in a well ventilated area like a driveway.
Man that was good stuff :yummy: .

Hi TJ :)
I wouldn't have a problem with putting the Impregnator Pro over the Enrich n Seal. The Enrich n Seal is a solvent based sealer. I would not put a water based sealer over it. As always, TEST first!
I recently put Dry Treat (solvent) over Aqua Mix Sealers Choice (water based). Next time I visit my client, I will be putting another companies solvent based sealer over the Dry Treat.
Hi Trask :)
You must be talking about the original solvent based Sealers Choice. That stuff was definitely wicked! :loaded:

Depends on how deep we get into it :clap2:
Jeff,
Have you tried the Enrich 'n Seal over your grout yet? We chose our grout color before we applied it, so I'm thinking the grout looks a little light. But like you, I'm putting off a test board, lol.
Jeff,
We tested it overnight and did the whole floor this morning. We really liked the way it darkened the grout lines. It pretty much looks like the stones are set edge to edge now! When I get ambitious enough, I'll post the test pictures.
BTW, at $59, getting the pint at Conestoga Tile to finish the last little bit was a shock. I swear it could not have been $100 to get a quart at Lowes last year. But maybe when they took it out of Lowes, they made the price more professional.
