I have a travertine floor that I just installed and I'm getting ready to seal it. The travertine is honed and on a mosaic pattern with various sizes, shapes, and colors up to 4X6. I tested StoneTech Enhancer on a sheet and noticed that some of tiles got more shiny than the honed finish it had before, and others stayed the same (the Enhancer Pro was even shinier) - I guess it has to do with the density of the stone.
Someone told me that to eradicate this issue to use mineral spirits to dull the finish about 24 hours after the sealer is applied, and before it's fully cured. Does this make sense to do? Are there other methods to keep the travertine from getting/staying shiny? (I could always stick with the current completely natural look and just get a regular penetrating sealer, however I thought I'd try to bring the color out a little more with the enhancer). Thanks.
