I recently built a new home. through out the house we had a porcelain floor installed. the tile comes from monterrey mexico. there is a wax substance on the tile so it does not shine like it should. the distributor said the wax residue was normal and was applied to protect floor. how do you remove it? we started sanding it by hand it seams to work but a slow process, any suggestions or ideas on removing the wax film a faster and in a safe way?

Use a high alkaline stripper/cleaner such as Aqua Mix Heavy Duty Tile and Grout Cleaner. Sanding will probably scratch the tile.

Hi dpeterson, Welcome! :)
I'm not familiar with the problem that you're describing. Mike's suggestion may or may not work. Do a TEST first to check for effectiveness.
I don't understand if the coating is designed to remain on your product. Do you have a link for the tile that you used?
