Our kitchen tiles are 3 years old, and the installer sealed the grout with Aqua Mix Saltillo Seal & Finish. He may also have sealed the tiles with it -- we're not sure.

Until recently, the tiles never stained or water-spotted. But in the last ~ 6 months they've begun to show water spots and other marks that look like they were sealed and the sealer has worn off. (The grout still looks perfect.) It's especially noticeable when the tiles are wet.

We would like to restore the finish to the spotless look we had when the tiles were new.

Is it recommended to simply re-coat with the Aqua Mix Saltillo Seal & Finish? Or would we be better off going with something more durable like the Aqua Mix Sealer's Choice Gold?

In either case, is it recommended to strip the old sealer off before re-sealing? And if so, what product is recommended for this purpose?

Thanks,

Ricketty

Hi Ricketty, Welcome! :)

Personally, I would strip all the wax off. The product you are using is a topical coating. More than likely you'll need a high alkaline cleaner to remove it, but I'd call Aqua Mix technical assistance to be sure.

The Sealers Choice would be fine, unless you choose to go with a Stone Tech product.
