Them's is pretty comprehensive lists, Neesie. What's my cat, Widdle Wascal, supposed to be able to eat.... Jiffy Peanut Butter?

Jif, yes. But Peter Pan, no.

Dry foods aren't a problem.:)

Or, you can always pull up another chair at the table. :D

Apparently this is all wet (canned or pouch) food. Quite a few animals have died and many others severely ill. The cause has not been isolated yet. Of course, my personal recommendation is Pedigree or Whiskas since DH works for the company.

I wouldn't feed Old Roy even to a dog. That is Walmart's brand of dog food. Most shelters use it because it's all they can afford. It has about as much nutrition as the bag/can it comes in and it is terrible for the dogs digestive tract.

Did you see how the Iams company is testing for the bad food? They are feeding it to dogs and cats. It's that animals testing? According to the company they have fed it to a bunch of animals and several dozen have died from it. You would think they would have a more scientific way of analysing the food.

My two dogs eat Old Roy dry dog food exclusively, and they seem perfectly fine. One is a beagle, the other is a mutt.

One thing we have learned from this recall is that despite the hundreds of brands, there are relatively few actual producers. One company is producing high-end and private label alike. How different do you think they are?

All the dogs I've ever had only eat the bag dog food, and table scraps, rabbits, coons, kittens, squirel, etc. Of course they would bring all of it and lay it on my porch so I could see it all and be proud of them. I was specially proud of the kitty :uhh: Ok, I just kiddin bout being proud of that. I only have my lil jack russel now and she just chases squirels and bugs.

Dan I know many people are happy with Ol Roy but my experience wasn't great. In your case, if it ain't broke... :blah: :blah: :blah:

I was surprised about how few producers there are as well. We found the same thing out when researching RVs. Depspite hundreds of 'brands' there are only about three real makers. As far as the difference in foods, while I'm sure some brands have their own formulations others probably just pick flavors A,B, or C. I'll stick with my Pedigree/Whiskas. They don't out-source.

Neese, my vet is not a fan of the Old Roy either. But, he concedes that my dogs are healthy.

Reminds me of working for a canning company when I was in high school. They would crank up the the labeling / case packing machine and keep the same cans rolling while we labeled dozens of brands. Anything from the low end to highest priced goods - all from the same lots. So often we just pay for a name.

Eric, that kind of education is probably worth more than anything a person can learn in high school.
