View Full Version : Computer hotkeys
Hey I am going to post differant 'hotkeys' now and then ,slowly one at a time so we can all learn them.
They are alot faster and more effecient than using a mouse. But are hard to remember if you don't use them.
hehe...

I'm going to inquire as to the waters depth before I jump in. JC, what the hell is Control-Q going to do for me or to me???
It just closes your browser real fast is all. Kinda helpful if your looking at pron and the ole lady gets home...or so I have been told. It might not work for Internet Explorer I should have checked first maybe you can test it Bud.
I would'nt do anything to mess up your systems guys..no worries.
heres some basic ones you guys prolly already know:
CONTROL+X means cut
CONTROL+C means copy
CONTROL+V means paste
So to take a link and put it in the location bar just highlight the link hit 'control+c then highlight the location bar and hit 'control+V'.
Its a simple one.

JC,
You've finally hit on something I can relate to. My very first computer was an old XT - no mouse. I got pretty good at control this and that.
Control + S before you Control + Q. :D

CONTROL+X means cut
CONTROL+C means copy
CONTROL+V means paste
Now all I have to do is remember them, lot faster than going to edit, but then again what's the rush
Really cool JC, Think I'll start a file of these.
Thank You!

Move this one too, JC.
Yea I was thinking of mentioning the control+s first John, but who would be writing a post and reading another unless they had two browsers running? I hope noone lost a letter or anything from that.
You can still run your computer without the mouse. Remember also most all the old commands still work! Computers are backwards compatable (thats the biggest thing hold back technology!) Windows still runs underneath of DOS. It just tricks does into allowing things that it did not allow before like long file names and Maximum drive size etc.. many things that DOS was not designed for.Backwards compatabilty.
Aren't those the big "scrimp" you get at the fancy resturants?
And why would the old lady mind?
Hey, curious minds want to know!!
