Hi,
Now with the next stage in my project....a granite vanity.
I have a granite vanity top that looks like it has some stains on it. I'm not sure, it might just be really bad imperfections in the stone.
I took pictures of the front and back side.
Does this look like a natural characteristic of granite? I bought it pretty cheap and it would be cool if I could clean it up to look more uniform.

The thing is my brother picked it up from NY and I live in Virginia. I am trying not to have to go to NY to return this thing, if I can fix it here.

Thanks for any help.
Eric.

Hi Eric :)

It's difficult to distinguish from the photos. Are these rust stains or oil stains? :shades:

Looking at where the stains are, my guess is that it would be liquid soap stains. I am talking about the marks on the top side only)

I would start by just giving the top and splashes a really good scrubbing with some warm water and a nylon bristle brush. Let it dry completely and then re-assess :zztop: Scrape the caulk residue off with a single edge razor blade.
