I was wondering if there are any color blind tile-setters on this board? I have a problem telling a few colors apart like green-brown, blue-purple. It was sometimes a problem when matching patterns in carpet, and Im wondering if there are many layouts with tile that would be a problem.

Only when well into the second 12-pack.

After a 12 pack, tile color would be the last thing on my mind  If you can put them away like that and still lay a straight line (even with the grid) you are the "Master of Tile" :D

I hear ya Jeremy, I wouldn't even try to mix thinset, let alone lay it down after even one 12 pack!! By the second one were talkin about old days and great lays!! :D:D

But let's face it JB is the Mudmeister! :D

Upon laboring through JC's ponderous renditions over at the Africa thread, I've concluded that he, and he alone, possesses this unique gift;)

I'm paying for extra disc space just to keep JC going. :D

I don't measure by 12's anymore since I've become the win-ohhh. :) Beer excercises my bladder too frequently.

I don't even start to get accurate until after the second bottle of Red, that's somewhere between 10 and 11 AM. Then it's time for lunch, I'm a hell on red after lunch though. :D

Spoken like a true painter, I'm sure... ;)

Used be able to put away a 12 pack on weekend nights, many, many moons ago, when I could stay awake past 11:00. ;)

Never affected my color perception. Judgement, yes...color perception, no. :D:D:D

Now, depth perception is another story. Zip, zero, nada.

Cami, I know you're still a sweet young thing, so take it from me, my daughter. Start earlier in the day! :D

"Sweet young thing".

I'd have to start drinking right after my bowl of Frosted MiniWheats. Lack of practice severely impacts alcohol tolerance. :D

One of these days, I might even have to switch to (gasp) wine....Nah, I don't want to be that old. ;););)

Rum and coke in a tall glass. Don't need more than 3 or 4 'til I become, in addition to color blind, young, rich, smart, good lookin', witty, rich (I already said that, I know, but I get richer the more I drink). My dancing doesn't improve, however.... :D

Cami,

You don't want to go to wine or you WILL end up old, sorta like Sonnie. :D

Bob,

Rum and Coke used to be my drink. Had a guy at the licquor store order me in a special brand from the French West Indies, "Rhum Negrita." Great stuff. Dark and medicinal tasting.

Gave up hard licquor when I married Patti. Used to drink that rum and coke just like I now drink beer. I've ever since hankered for a taste, though. Hell, even Bacardi would do along about now. :D

I'll just have to say that a good wine will lend you dumb and stumbling long before it leaves you colour blind. Now that's a secret... if every paint contractor in Dallas knew that, there'd be a lot less cheap beer sold.

and as the rum goes, I think I've seen but not tasted the carribean that JPB mentioned, but get this... anyone ever heard of a Columbian rum???? Stuff is great, extremely flavourful, and dirt cheap. My former employer bought all that was to come to this area but it may be available in other areas. Name is Ron Caldos, comes in gold and white, only dif is caramel colouring. I'll swear to you it hits you worse than any rum I've ever had (I've had a few), I'm wondering if maybe some of that coca doesn't end up in this stuff!!! Anyway, really good, really cheap. I would pay $10 for a 1.75 here. Keep your eyes open.
