Thanks, Drew. Same to you. Hey, you can give up gamblin' and smokin', but drinkin'? Better think about that one. :D
Ok John, I've given this some serious thought & you'rre right, givin up all 3 of my stress reducers all at once can't be good fpr neither the body nor mind!!
What Noone else even got the guts to admit to the resolutions thay are makin, that will be broken b4 the sun even shines on the new yr! If you're scared, just step aside. :D
I hope that all of you have a great holiday. Happy Chanukah too.
Drew, I'm with JB. Three is two to many.
As a matter of Fact I had my last cigarette on Thanksgiving Day just after midnight. Used the Patches for about two weeks and have been gutting it out since then. I feel better, and also know that it wouldn't take much to go back. Helps to stay busy!
Good luck with whichever vices you choose to abandon.
;) ;) :D

Good for you JohnT ... smoking is a hard one to give up.
I don't smoke and I don't gamble, so to keep my viceOmeter on an even keel I try to drink whenever the occasion permits. Like tonight for instance, I'll be continuing my struggle to keep at least 15 people employed fulltime at Molson's.

Merry Christmas folks and have a well deserved holiday! :aparty:
Good on you, JT! We like quitters around here. :)
Ol' flatfloor did that same thing a while back (must be most of a year ago), so he can empathize and cheer you on, too. I quit myownself more than 30 years ago and can testify that it's one of the best things you'll ever do for yourself, but I'll also testify that it ain't easy. Back then they didn't give you no steenkin' patches, all you got was a cold turkey- and a poorly cooked turkey, at that. It's a bitchy addiction, one well worth being shed of.
I'll send you a couple phone numbers for use when the evil cravings strike in the middle of the night. Just call me before you're tempted to light up and I'll lay a good guilt trip on ya. :p Or whatever else you think might help. :)
Mmmm. Your profile says you don't want no steenkin' emails, so I sent you one of those Private Message thingees, you know, the ones I never remember to check? ;)
Thanks all for your support. :D
Drew -- Didn't intend to hijack your thread. :(

I also would like to wish everyone a very merry. I am thankful that I stumbled upon this place, for I have found a great bunch of people, and made some good friends. Hey, I just heard a noise up on the roof!.......

John T,
I'm a quitter, too. I'm heading into my fourth year. I did the patches for a week or so. Kept cutting them in half and then actually cut one into quarters before I realized how stupid that was. The hankering goes away in about a year. Be strong during that year, my friend, and you can then enjoy the bennies.
Over-eating and a big belly to prove it. :D

JJ, don't never mind what JT was saying, he was referring to the number of times I've tried to quit... there now... ;)
JT, you're a devil. Actually, since my work is sooooo slow between Thanksgiving and Valentine, I've begun my work-outs again. Gotta look good at least two months of the year, huh? Enough to make you want to work for GC's, or at least return their calls...
