I've been glancing out the window and there is this strange, somehow familiar, brightness out there. Looking up I have to squint my eyes, so it can't be a rain cloud. Could it be . . .? Oh no, it can't be the sun, can it?

I saw it............5 minutes later it started to rain.
Sounds like the way the old Indian DFBB (Drinks Firewater By Bucket) Jones up in Washington used to predict the rain:
"If cannot see Mt. Rainer, Is raining; If can see Mt. Rainer, will rain soon".
Locals say he was pretty accurate.
Sun's been out here for some hours, now. This is good. Found a little car in the trees just down the road from the house. Been there since last night when it rained 5 inches in just a couple hours. It was a "RIO" which I thought was kinda appropriate. In a drainage that feeds the creek that put the water level line in my customer's casa back in 97.
Might as well move to Houston.

Took the family out to Joe's Crab Shack last evening. Still bright when we entered the restaurant at about 7:PM. Exited about 8:45 -- everything wet, people still holding umbrellas.
Glancing out the window as I type. No fire ball.
The irony is that we are no longer getting the rain from Mexico to the south. A new front has shoved that front out of the way. The new front is from, of all places, Canada.
Muchas Gracias, amigos!

You guys need "Rock on a rope". It's reliable, inexpensive and easy to use.
Attach it outside a main window and when you wake in the morning, view the rock for indications of weather conditions.
~ If rock casts a shadow ... it's sunny.
~ If rock is wet ... it's raining.
~ If rock is swaying ... it's windy.
~ If rock isn't there ... proceed to basement.
Always here to help ...... :)
