I have two circular marks on my brand new African Galaxy granite countertop. We were just about to seal it, and put down two pots from our fondue evening. These circular rings appeared afterwards, so we are assuming it is from the canola oil. Not happy. They are darker in colour to the rest of the countertop and fairly noticeable. Is there anything we can do to remove them? Please say yes! Would applying an oil all over help or hinder? Should we seal it now?

Don't Seal and don't put oil on it.
Go to HD and get a can of poltuse. It is a pouder that you mix up and spread it on the stain and it will pull the oil out of the stone. May take a couple applications. Let is sit on there awhile to do its thing.
Good Luck

If it's too late to get the poultice, quickly blot up the excess oil, and cover the spot with flour,or baby powder to start absorbing the oil quickly before it soaks into the stone,if it's still a wet stain, it can be difficult to remove once it's soaked in, then get the poultice, but before you use it try cleaning with a heavy duty degreaser, then apply the poultice, and leave overnight.
