I installed two water jet polished marble medallions today and by accident a small (3/16) size area of permanent marker got on the surface of one medallion. The marker is black, marble is cream. Tried to remove immediately with a little acetone, then Bar Keeper's friend, and finally a marble cleaning product but only managed to remove about 50% of marker. Tomarrow morning will try a poltice. Any Ideas?

Hi Allsetter,
Can we have a first name ?
We are a friendly group of guys here some of which have corresponded for years. You can try acetone poultices of which several might be required.

Hi Allsetter, Welcome! :)
Yes, first names are always good!
As Michael suggested, a poultice with acetone and white (nonprint) paper towels should work. More than likely the barkeepers friend may have etched the surface since the marble was polished. It contains oxalic acid.
