I have my shower done, the tile is on and it is grouted. Now to seal it. I don't understand, it says on the bottle to seal the grout, but the applicator is wider than the grount lines, so I assume you must put it on the edges of the tile too, yet it says do not allow product to dry on tile, it seems if you didn't want it on the tile, the applicator would only be as wide as the grout line? It then says polish with soft cloth immediately after silicone application, will the grout line be dry immediately?

the first coat will soak in very fast. Start at the top and work down. Don't let the drips linger long prior to wipping up. You can almost start the 2nd coat after completiong of the first. You will notice that the grout doesn't turn color like it did the first time or only in places you missed the first time.
Have more than one rag.
When you are thru and notice there are spots where you can see the sealer on the tile and they won't buff off put a little fresh sealer on them. It will reemulsify the dried stuff and you can wipe it up.
Good Luck

Thanks for your answer. I have ceramic tile, non sanded grout, the sealer the home inprovement store gave me is HOMAX silicone with an applicator at the top which is about 3/4 inch wide, Do I try to seal just the grout line or cover the whole width of the applicator and then wipe the excess off both sides of the grout line? It doesn"t say, how many coats do I need?
