I am certain you get tired of fielding these but here goes!
Bought dark grey tile from Lowe's some texture involved and a darker grey grout. As you can guess, grout got stuck in the crevices. In hopes of getting it out, AFTER trying vinegar and water WITH a small stiff brush, we purchased from Lowe's Tile Guard Grout Haze remover. It contains citric acid. NOW after having scrubbed and cleaned SEVERAL times...there are white places...now the question....WHAT DO I DO? Is this possible residue or is it bleaching the grout if I didn't remove well? How can I tell which it is and where do I go now? (why oh why did I do this!?!?!?!) This is going on week two on this project.

I have pics but too big to post here....

This may not be big deal, try cleaning again with water and a scrubby pad, and rinse a couple times, and wetvac it up. :tup2:

Hi Why did you do that, Welcome! :) :D

Please share a first name with us.

I would also try using a 25-33% ammonia and water solution.

WELL, seems that I was in panic mode...i guess as a newbie you could understand. I was OVERLY zealous in my cleaning and just needed to give it time to "cure". Now there is a little color differences in the grout but was told that by dry rubbing it will get more residue off and should be fine. As far as the grit IN the tile crevices I was told that time and cleaning is the way to go. Sound to conservative to you? Another question...what is the best grout sealer to use? I know that when my husband tiled our bathroom, once he sealed the grout some had white patches on it...

Thanks for the advice!

Jennifer

Hi Jennifer :)

If you choose to utilize our online store, just click on the Shop-TYW Store link on the top left portion of the screen. Order some Stone Tech Heavy Duty Sealer. It would also be a good time to select some maintenance products. All Purpose Cleaner or Revitalizer are good selections.

If you don't want the convienience of being delivered to your door, Aqua Mix Sealers Choice is also easy to use, and very effective.
