After reading many of the posts here regarding spectralock I decided to give it a try for my granite counters. Spectralock was awesome! Easy to mix, easy to spread, easy to fill the joints as flush as I wanted, BUT.....not so easy to clean. I followed the directions to the letter and even thought I had it completely clean. I was preparing to apply a aquamix sealer today and I guess the light was just right and I was able to see streaks across most of the tiles. I tried the water and vinager again, no luck. Added more vinigar to the water, no luck. I even used a little cordless polisher/buffer with a white pad on it, no luck. It seems that if I rub very hard, continuously in one spot with adry towel I can remove the haze, but theres got to be an easier way. Do they sell haze removers for epoxy grout that won't hurt the polish of the granite? Thanks in advance.

Is it possible that the sealer (solvent based) could possibly help remove the haze or would it make the haze harder to remove??? Thanks guys

You should have gotten two packets of cleaning powder one for the first cleaning, and the other for later, some people don't get them,so,you could use a paint and epoxy remover such as Jasco, but you need to just apply it to the individual tiles, and of course don't get it in the joints.

Thanks Dave, would acetone or somthin like that work or does it need to be specifically for epoxy? I know they use acetone to clean up fiberglass resin. My biggest concern is wrecking the finish on my tiles. The job went great and looks great (thanks to you and many others here :clap1: ) and I don't want to screw up now. By the way neighbor..I'm in North Port about an hour north of you.

Yes, acetone, or peel away7 or easy off oven cleaner..but be careful. These won't hurt your stone, but the breaking down of the epoxy could meld into the stone, so try to scrape off any residue that is broken down.I don't get above Pt. charlotte much, other than on vaca. :D

Why would you ever leave Naples to go to Pt Charlotte! I mean I've been to Naples a few times and Port Charlotte must be like going out to the country for you, lol. I tried the Acetone, still takes elbow grease and a good polishing but it seems to work. The color of this granite bit me in the butt, I really thought I did a good job of clean up. I was grouting at 3 AM so that could've contributed to my false opinion. Just to look at it it looks fine but when look across the reflection from the window you see all those streaks like someone did a poor job cleaning a window. Thanks again for your peace of mind and suggestions. :tup2:
