We had some saltillo tile installed a couple of weeks ago by one of my family members with very good intentions. However, the grout did not get washed off soon enough, and dried on the tile (we managed to get it off of about half of the tiles, but it is a 200 sq ft room). After being told by the local tile store that our tile was ruined and we would never be able to get the grout off, we found a guy who said he could do it. He did manage to get almost all of the grout off of the tiles, and they looked great except for a thin film of the grout haze that was left on them after washing. So yesterday they washed the tiles with a grout haze remover, and after it dried there was a much thicker whitish haze over most of the tiles. I don't think they rinsed off the grout haze remover according to the directions. So now this morning, they sealed the tile with the first layer of sealer, and told me that as we kept applying sealer the white appearance would go away. Well, the sealer has soaked in and looks pretty dry, but there is still a thick layer of whitish stuff all over my floor!! What can I do??

Thanks for your help. Janine

Hi Janine.

I'm moving your thread over to the Restoration, Cleaning, and Sealing section of the house. We tend to do that a lot...especially when we don't have a clue over here on the General Advice Board. :D
