Good grief...not even close to being old as dirt. Oh well, Happy Birthday anyway! :D :gerg: (That's a picture of cx BTW....errrr...or so I was told recently) That's not to imply what old as dirt looks like...oh, geez, never mind...I'm going to be sent to tile time out...again.

Thanks guys, my birthday was awesome. I set a record for myself. I have been focusing on learning to float walls for the last year so even though I worked on my b-day I was still pretty stoked. I paper, lathed, floated and screeded a tub surround from tub to ceiling in 4 hrs. Level as can be. I was sipping a cold bud by lunch time. I know this is not fast by any means, but last year at this time I wouldn't have thought that I would be a mud guy. All you guys and your advice has been a paramount in this achievement so I guess I must thank all of you for a great b-day.

When i was but a wee apprentice i floated my first tub surround... it was
already roughed in. Believe it or not it took me a full 8 hours to get the
mud in and rub it down :p
Congrats Matt!

Mathew, Happy birthday and Congrats on entering the world of mud :clap1: ;) Doesn't sound so slow to me. The key is keep the hawk and trowel in your hand alot...I know if I don't do a mud job for six months or so I come back to find I'm out of practice. I wish I could do a couple a month just to stay real sharp.
