I have a quick question. I can get my hands on some black diamond stone sealer cheap. I just wanted to know how well it stacks up to Pro choice sealer. Pro's / Con's.

Thanks
Nick

Hi Nick,

Is it one of these products? (http://www.bdstoneworks.com/products.html)

I've never seen the stuff, so can't tell you how it compares. I'm going to move this over to the "Cleaning, Restoring, and Sealing Forum" for the sealing pros to weigh in on this.

Answer this, though. How old is the sealer you can buy "cheap"? :)

Hi Nick, Welcome! :)

I'm also not familiar with that product. I'd be careful purchasing anything that's a super deal. Usually you'll get what you pay for!

It's made by the company tool guy linked up. I didn't see the exact product there. I guess it would be the "first gen sealer". It's not old, it's a closeout at lowes. Marked from $86 down to $20 gal. I thought if the experts here had no problem with the stuff, I would grab me some.

Do sealers have a shelf life?

Hi Scott :)

Excellent question!

The shelf life varies on the manufacturer. It also depends if freeze/thaw has been an issue. If you pour it in a clear container and it has particles floating around, or has a foul smell, it's bad.

Hi Nick :)

Home Depot did the same thing with their Tile Lab Products. You couldn't give that stuff to me.
