The following is a link to a very disturbing film. (1 hour 50 minutes)

America: Freedom to Fascism (http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-4312730277175242198)

Everyone should see this film.

AMERICA: FREEDOM TO FASCISM Synopsis

Determined to find the law that requires Americans to pay income tax, Aaron Russo (THE ROSE, TRADING PLACES) sets out on a journey. Neither left- nor right-wing, this startling examination exposes the systematic erosion of civil liberties in America. Through interviews with US Congressmen, a former IRS Commissioner, former IRS and FBI agents, tax attorneys and authors, Russo connects the dots between money creation, federal income tax, voter fraud, the national identity card (becoming law in May 2008) and the implementation of radio frequency identification (RFID) technology to track citizens. A striking case about the evolving police state in America.

Thank you Kilroy. I'm an hour and 21 minutes into it and not sure I want to see the rest. My foundation has been shaken.

Before i take the link.... is the video feed decent? Its a whole movie
without a plethora of stinkin popups?

It's a google video. no pop ups.

The income tax law (or lack there of) is really just the staging point of the film. The rabbit hole goes a lot deeper then that.

I just finished watching the whole thing... It is an eye-opener.

I definitely will start reading up on the issues the film dealt with.. Some of it truly is unbelievable. The woman getting tazed twice, thrown on the ground and arrested for having a suspended license was a scary sight.

Thanks for posting this.

Alright

I just finished it and I have some homework to do. If the major points in this movie are true...... then America is going to have some tough times coming.

Just watched the whole thing also. I felt the production was to preachy and one-sided, making it predictable, but I also believe the major points of the piece are worth serious thought. A flawed messenger, but an important message none-the-less.
John, please share what you learn.
Thanks for sharing,
Shaughnn

A flawed messenger?

The man believes in the major points of this film. For the sake of argument, lets say that 100% of this film is true. Should he not be one-sided and passionate about these issues?
The US of A is teetering on a dangerous precipice and we the people need to wake up.

Kil,
I automatically distrust anything that is obviously biased or "leading". And I think that, as an "award winning producer" he could have managed a higher production standard. I think my wife made the strongest arguement against the "messenger" though when she pointed out that the film was very "Libertarian". Mr. Russo's political affiliation is, in fact, the Libertarian Party. For me, his personal politics should have been better veiled to make a more credible arguement and that's partly why I believe his film is flawed. I also thought that the reliance on black-screen text was tedious.

If you distrust anything that is biased or misleading, Shaugnn, did you flush Michael Moore's '9-11' down the toilet?

Eugenius,
I haven't seen it yet.

Film documents something I've said several times before on this very forum.

Republican or democrate --different sides of the same coin, and puppets of the powers that be. Government of the people, by the people, for the people has been a fiction for a long time now. Just didn't know exactly when it became corporate america. 1913 eh??

Nothing wrong with a Libertarian point of view

and puppets of the powers that be.

And who might that be?

Didn't get to the movie yet too late here. :)

Wow, after watching that film, twice, and looking at those other related web sites it痴 kind of overwhelming to say the least. I mean world changing events are always costly, whether it痴 in time, money, emotions, lives, and looking at the 'big picture' of anything can take a lot out of someone. If you allow yourself to get caught up into thinking about, and being affected by, all of this impending gloom and doom you would have no energy or desire left to focus on the more important things in life, IMHO God, family & work (put that into whatever order you like, or at all) But by contemplating all of this it does help to put things into perspective for me by making my next job, a complete remodel of a bathroom and kitchen, look that much more interesting and enjoyable. Thanks kilroy, for putting a renewed sense of pride and desire back into my work, and my clients will thank you too.
