Searching just got better. A tweak has been added to the thread view page. When reading a post, check the bottom right of the page and find a "Search Thread" box, enter a phrase and it will search only in the thread you are viewing.
This is great for finding something in a long post. Use the main search first to find threads, then search the thread to find the text. It even makes the found text red!

He, he, ol' Dave win hisownself one of them pull-it-sir prizes he can do that! Hell, CX can't always spell CX. :D
Damn! I was off-line maybe an hour and this forum done forgot who I am again! And gave me the cheapo reply box again, too. What's the que pasa on that, Dave. :( And it won't take me to the first unread post when I axe it too, neither.

CX, go into your profile, then into edit options and see what you have your options set to. Maybe you have cookies disabled?
No, I looked in there, Cami, and all looks to be in order.
I'm fixin' to go off-line again, so I'll test it when I git back. If I can git back. :smash:

:( I'm not sure what's up CX,
Before you login, it don't know what your first unread post is, cause it don't know who you are. After you login, it should know. Mayhap you have to clear the cookies in your browser and let it start fresh? I'm guessin there. :(
The cheapo reply box is an option in your profile, down near the bottom of the "Edit Options" page. "Use vBCode quick links on your message input screens?" needs to be set to yes.
Damn! Much as I hate to admit it, sombody done turned off my cookies there in my profile thingee.
Prolly the same jerk that goes off to work sometimes and leaves the computer connected to the onliest phone line I own. :bonk:

Problem is, the forum still don't remember who I am. Had to register twice before it would let me make this here post. :bang:

Cami,
I went to the MudBox to start a post with a link to that site, with a suggestion that everyone think of someone in need if at all possible. I was distracted by Dave's topic re: new searches, so found your post first.
I think that link belongs as a "sticky", at least for a little bit!Our local newspaper is hosting a drive for "practical" gifts, as well - food store certificates, utility bill payments, etc. There are so many possibilities, including donating time if you do not have the funds for gifts and/or monetary donations.

now what the heck did you just say???
I ain't been out in the garden for long enough to get that confused :D
And what is this I hear about them Mavericks goin' something like 16 of 17? Don't get me wrong, I'm not a basketball freak and I don't really give a swill, but riding around this afternoon in my truck (acting like I'm busy), I heard this blurb and I thought that was pretty impressive. Impressed? I mean, are you impressed that I was actually able to comprehend what was being spewed forth from the AM radio??? ;)
Oh, sorry, just doin' my best to keep all the subjects going in one forum at the same time.... :D

Laurie, the local paper prints a special insert of all sorts of letters "to Santa" with a wide variety of wishes from and for people. When I was in the optical biz, we usually helped out those that needed glasses, and the company also ran a food drive where you could get a free exam if you donated a case of canned or boxed goods. Kinda fun to see people lugging canned goods into the mall. :D
I like to do the "angel tree"- it gives me a chance to shop for a little girl. :santa::santa::santa:
Sonnie...what sport is it that the Mavs play? ;)

Methinks it's basketball (though I'd prefer to spell it basquetball, hahaha)
Don't know where the sport got it's beginnings or its name. closest resemblance as I can see is from the do or die game the Mayans used to play. Apparantly they were even more serious about their game than our bookies (read Vinnie et al) are.
Anyhow, it's some thingy about tossin' this ball through a hoop. Don't axe me how they came up with the word "hoop" the EOD don't recognize it in that regard, why should I?
By Gods, it's God in print!!!!
I'd believe John's birds first... if you don't believe me, just axe his sons!
there again, maybe it wastn't fair to get him involved, him being so busy and all... :)
