Okay guys, if you liked the part 1 in this new series, you're gonna love this one...
Jim called me this morning (Jim was referenced in the part 1) to tell me about a job his guys were starting at a community center and condo complex.
His company bid on all of it, but the GC rejected their bid for some of the stone work as being too high.
So, Jim and his guys got to the job today to start tiling one of the gang showers in the community center, and the big shower they are going to do the walls for has sheets of 3/4" plywood shot to the concrete. The floor drain is recessed below the plywood.
"What's this?" Jim asks. Well, it turns out that the assistant to the Stupidintendant got with the hardwood flooring guy (go figure-hardwood any where near a public bathroom) and decided it would be best this way for the stone in the shower to transition to the hardwood.
Yes, their plan was for the Italian stone setter to set the 6 x6 stone directly over the plywood in the shower.
Well, I'm off to work now, and won't be home until late tonight. I look forward to hearing the comments that this one will generate.
