Hi everyone,
With the software update, I image there will be some concerns and/or questions on the new look and new features. This is the place to vent and axe questions :D

Yeah, duh sheet won't fit on de screen. :D

John K.

Hey why does it say " unregistered"?

Cami A
11-29-2002, 06:32 AM
John, you'll probably have to log in so the new software recognizes you.

Dave, you made that seem soooo easy. Thanks for all the new toys- and it's not even Christmas! :D

This will be interesting to see how everything looks when I get home to my usual browser. Now I just have to decide what my avatar should look like....;)

Way too easy to format these messages now. I'll have to poke around and see if I can pick a default font and color.

Let's see...trying out a list...
blue
red
green
yellow
purple

What's PHP?

davem

rj, That's wide onna counta the big title John gave me :) I trimmed it a little, it will go back to normal as soon as we remove that announcement at the top of the page.

Cami, PHP is a scripting language, the one this board runs on in fact

John Bridge
11-29-2002, 07:21 AM
RJ,

I had to give him that title 'cause I ain't payin' him nothin'. :D

Now let's see if I remembered my password.

Okay,

It's going to take me a while to figure all of this out, but I'll catch up.

Dave,

Actually, the gray background in the reply field isn't all that bad. It's growing on me. ;)

I think I lost all my moderator functions.

And subscribe to this thread means?

davem
11-29-2002, 09:53 AM
Jim,
Click on the "profile" icon at the top. You will see that it is much more than it used to be, almost like a personal home page. They call it the "User Control Panel". If you subscribe to a thread, you can watch that thread from your control panel. Lots of other good stuff there too. PM (private message)me regarding you moderator functions. :)

A guy works a few extra hours and when he gets home his old board has left him and a new one is in its place. Hell I was just understanding the old one.:)

OK Dave............why am I "unregistered" and what do I do about it?

Signed Bud.............remember me?

John, I just went through this crap a few weeks ago...remember...let's leave well enough alone for while huh. I can't begin to work daily and cope with this board too it's making me crazy. Crazy I say.

Now let's see where are those calm-me-down pills Sonnie sent me?:D

OH great now what do I do? I went back to edit and now I have to know if I want to "save changes" or "reset message".

Which one will it be? I just want to re-post the damned thing.:)

OK....here we go, if I lose all this, I'm outa here.

Back again in "edit", obviously I made the right choice but what would have happened if I would have chosen "Reset Message"?

Hey Dave fix it for me will ya please?:)

I'm gone.

Bud, I responded in the other thread. You have to login, from the "home" screen check the bottom right for the login boxes. Sorry for the trouble, but John made me do it. :drevil:

ff, you can save the pic to disk, but you must also change the size, as it is too big to use as an avatar. I've tried to attach a re-sized version here, though I didn't have time right now to fix the color (I'm not so good at this - but it's a start for you) - maybe someone more talented here can help fix it. (If the file doesn't show below, I'll e-mail a copy to you.)

As to the pics I posted for Sonnie, they were the only animated cooking-related ones I could find quickly at the time - thought I was just trying to help...

John, I didn't understand your question ("what's the message?")

Cami, I can't see a bunch of your pics - they are just grey squares. Is it a problem on my end, or are others having a problem?

Looks like I forgot to stick Laurie's name in the response to her question about grey squares. Mea culpa. ;)

Sonnie, I was referring to your Norma Jean comment. :D:D:D You need the least amount of cooking help of anyone here! (The Cook's Talk forum (http://forums.taunton.com/tp-cookstalk) is a good reference, though.)

is it something I need to check out on my end (as if I would) that it takes me 20 seconds to post a post using cable?

and why is it that all of Bud's messages get reduced to morse code and all of Cami's get cut in half? Was it that remark about Norma Jean????
