Time to fess up. In addition to the TM-75 to be given away this coming Monday, Novemember 18, Andy Lundgren, Felker/Target products manager, sent another one to me to try out. Yep, I won the drawing before the draw. ;)
I have already expressed my thanks to Andy and to Felker, but thanks again. :)
Albert and I used the saw to complete a bathroom revovation which consisted of a new tile shower where a tub had been and the bathroom floor. I've done a little piece on the results of the trial, and I've posted it to Tile Your World.com. You can find it here: http://www.tileyourworld.com/tilesaw.htm

I rented one just two weeks ago. Great machine for weight/power. If I'd known it was only $300 to buy it, I would have.
"36 and one half pounds" Thats what I'm talking about!
How good is it for a thick porcelain?

Well, nice of you to Fess -Up John!! ;)
Glad to hear your report seeing as I have one on the way,but then again it is a Felker after all.:)
As Much as I like My Tilemaster SC,there are times when 36.5#s sounds exceptional. If its Even half the saw of its big brothers,It would be a winner for sure. But knowing Felker,it will stand up even under proffessional scrutiny.I am looking Forward to recieving mine this coming week.Looks like i wont need to add to your report though John. But, I will add this:
If ya dont own a Felker,Your just Playin at Tile!!! :D

JC,
As I stated in my review, I probably won't use it for the large jobs, most of which are porcelain these days. But it COULD be used for a large porcelain job by a newbie. That's the point. It will certainly cut through porcelain. They make a porcelain blade for it.
I'm going to use it for general duty and leave my 90 lb. Tilemaster in the shop. The TM-75 will do most jobs on a daily basis. And I'm tellin' ya, it's a joy to snatch that little fella up and slide it on the bed of the truck.
Of course, it would probably walk if you didn't keep an eye on it, and there's no way to run a chain through the motor, like there is on the larger machines.
I really look forward to receiving my new saw! :D
When are you gonna tell everybody else that I won?

Brad McCarty of Oklahoma City, OK.
Is that one of your aliases, John? :D

When did CX change his name? :D
Yeah Brad's my middle name and the McCurdy is an old family tradition of calling ourselves by somebody elses last name.
So you can just have them send it here to Michigan. The Ol' McCurdy summer home. :)

Well the Tm-75 showed up yesterday and I put it together last night.I am going to run it through its paces today on some 8x8 wall tile.
Nothing like having 2 saws at the site.1 upstairs and 1 downstairs :)

Will the blade included with the saw cut porcelin? I have about a 400 square foot room to finish with porcelin. There won't be many cuts...just those necessary to compensate for room width.

Think we could get some Lexus people over here? :D

Actually, I think we should keep with the small, light, portable theme. :D:D:D

Which are you referring to, the bike or that wierd looking roller skate? ;)

Cami, I think the gas tank in my van is bigger than that...uhh..."car". :)

Yep...The "Smart Car" fits in the back of the Tahoe. My only rationale for the car is that I could finally parallel park in only one move. :D:D:D
Saw these for the first time in Belgium. They're just so darn cute...2.5 meters long, 57 mpg and, just for Rob, they come in a convertible now. (I figure it's the only way there would be enough headroom. ;) )

Saw quite a few Smart cars while living in Germany. And a $4 or more a gallon, and tight parking, I could see lots of places where they'd make sense. I think that our crash standards and all make it unlikely we'll ever see them here.
Hey Cami-find a Mercedes A class!
Yeah, well, who needs two steenkin' tile saws anyway? ;)
Don't know how I missed this thread 'till now. Has anybody heard from this alleged winner of the saw?

Jerry,
The saw will cut porcelain with the blade that comes with it.
Cami,
That car looks smaller than the Morris Mini Minor I owned back in the day.
CX,
The winner is not "alleged," but no, I haven't heard from him. ;)
Todd,
You're gonna love that little saw. Just wish they weren't making tiles so big these days. :)

Cami, that's the weirdest looking tile saw I've ever seen! ;)

Yep,Nice lil saw :) Talk about quiet!!!!!! And it isnt a Plasplugs ;).......Used it on some 8x12 wall tile. tile is a bit large for the saw ,but it managed with a couple flips.I can see this thing being handy for alot of lil repairs and even hauling around for large 4 1/4 / 2x2 commercial bath jobs. And its so light!!!!.Plenty of power too.Now in my opinion this is a great choice for a weekend warrior and should handle all thier needs for the most part.Minimal investment and a good resale value in the end.My opinion 2 Thumbs up!! on a scale of 1-10 for a homeowner 8.5(sorry andy,i wish you wouldnt have changed the tray and rail system :) You woulda got a 10 with a tilemaster roller tray :) )

I never liked the setup on the big MK saws because the things are so heavy -- no way to break them down. But on the smaller Felker it doesn't bother me. It's much more acurate than the Tilemaster, IMHO.

Sonnie, I think the Felker and the Smart Car have the same engine. ;)

Wonder if they'll give us a Smart Car to give away in a drawing. ;)

Oh,he is back,Prob just recovering from Jet lag !!!! :D
I think my lawnmower is bigger than the "Smart Car". :D
But then again I only get one yard per gallon.

Smart car eh,Where do the trowels go??? can i tie a saw to the roof without caving it in? And can anyone change those tires or do you need a short frenchman ;)
Todd, I think you better get a trailer for your trowels
and saw...they don't come with a jack....I'll hold the car up while you change the tire...O.K. ?

OK, so anybody perused the 'net for the '75? Where would I likely find the best price? I'll shop locally, of course, but I ain't married to any of 'em.

is the Aixam. I saw one of these in France. It is not considered a car, but a 4 wheeled motorcycle. Don't know how they get away with that but no drivers license is required to drive it. I tried to get a picture but I wasn't fast enough, and never saw another one. Apparently they are not as popular in France as in other countries.

Andy
What has more torque and HP, that "car", or one of your
Target/Felker saws? :)

The Felker for sure :D :D :D
If you dont own a felker, your just playin at tile!!!!!!!!

Yeah, right... you just try to drive a Felker through one of those hour-long tunnels with trowels and two passengers on the back... gonna be a looooonge extension cord (chord), m' friend, well, unless you got it powered with CO2, hehe :)
Very funny picture in my head of that...

I just looked Aixam up, 400cc engine, 2 cylinder, max speed 45 Km/h and 81 mpg. The car does get better MPG though! I was going to post the pic but don't know how.

I do believe the Felker with its through air design would also be much more aerodynamic.Perhaps enough to gain a bit on the MPG :D :D :D
