It's my pleasure to announce that Dave Misevich (davem) has agreed to join the management of the JB Forums. I've placed Dave in the Mud Box for the time being.

Dave has also agreed to help sort out the technical aspects of the site, so if you see him prowling the back halls and passageways of the site, looking into broom closets, etc., leave him alone. :D

Welcome aboard, Dave. I appreciate it immensely.

Starting package: four weeks unpaid vacation and the promise of a coffee mug and a tee shirt. Plus, in Daves case, he truly has the key to the executive washroom. :)

Dave, I'm glad you signed up for stint. :D:D:D

The stall marked "Ladies" is off-limits, ok?

Go forth and fix things.....;)

I forgot to add that we need a fitting handle for Dave. The interim one I put up seems a bit mundane for a person of Dave's stature. (Gotta say things like that, 'cause I ain't payin' him didly.) :)

We are open for suggestions.

WELCOME Dave.

As far as a new handle...Dave what's your favorite number?
Just label yourself "SUCKER No. favorite number here". :)

Welcome aboard Dave.

John as you know I was very much in favor of Dave, welcome Dave, but only under the condition you put an extension on this place. When was the last time youlooked in here? The police have been here 3 times and the LL is complaining, look at this place!

Welcome aboard, Dave. :)

I don't have keys to anything around here, so if I need to git into one of the places with locks on the door, I'll give you a holler, OK? That way I can help with the clean-up and stuff. But don't say nothin' to nobody, OK? :D

We're sure glad for JB to have some help with the ol' site. Booger's gettin' to be a real handful, I'm sure, 'specially with it startin' to be world famous and all.

Oh, and don't pay no attention to flatfloor when he tries to talk to you about "investment opportunities" he has is some countries you ain't likely to have heard of. Just trust me on that one 'till you get more aquainted with the operation. :D

I'm shocked, shocked do you hear? To think I would attempt to swindle a fellow moderator. That's terrible!

But Dave, since CX brought it up we do have several highly lucrative opportunities available to new moderators for a limited time only. :)

Thanks everyone for the welcome. If you start to see Red Wings logos all over the site, it wasn't me and you can't prove otherwise! :D

Yeah, Engineer/Moderator ain't exactly what ya could call your prestigeous title. Hell, we got us half a dozen or more of them Moderators, and God can't keep track of how many Injineers, even usin' her accounting program. :)

But nothin' else don't spring to mind right now. I betcha we'll git some suggestions real soon though. Just wait 'till after midnight when Sonnie done finished one of them big ol' bottles of wine and commences to wax all poetic like. Might even git you a Haiku to go with the title, Dave. :D

Try their website. If you see something you like, copy the location and paste it in your post like a picture.

your picture location here

(delete the "-" after the first "img". had to do that to show you how.)

Find the picture you like,
right click on it,
left click on "properties",
highlight the url when it comes up,
right click on that,
left click on "copy",

come back to this location (or wherever you want your pic),
get the cursor going,
right click anywhere in the field,
left click paste,
there it is, nothin' to it. :)

Then do as Bob says and bracket theimage sign as he has shown you.

Now if you already know all of this procedure please accept my apologies. I was a long time learning this much.:D

Floorman,

What they're trying to tell you is go out into the Internet, steal anything that suits you, then bring it back here and deposit it. How do you think we got where we are? We stole this forum from somebody, too. :D

I ain't there yet, Kelly...working on it. Got this new Cab from Oz I'm wearin' a hole in the bottome of...

Great, Dave, we gonna work on the FAQ thingy? I think HTML pages linked back are the route to take. Seems the rules for managing posts on this site are a bit strict.

John Bridge

Dave,

I see you got Freddie up there. Great job. Too bad I didn't hire you three weeks ago when I first started trying to figure out how to do that. Today Freddie, tomorrow the world. No, wait a minute. Let's not go there again. :D

Bud Cline
11-11-2002, 10:04 AM
John if you can get Freddie up there with a link to somewhere else and you can get TYW up there that links somewhere else, why can't a link to Harry's chat room be done the same way for quick access?

John Bridge
11-11-2002, 07:23 PM
I can, now that we have someone that knows how to do it. ;) Question is, do we really want to do that? We'll need to have a vote of the board members.

Wow! I just noticed my new title. It sound so ... official! :D Thanks John. I thought I'd end up with something like "HGIC".

Give him an extra 2 weeks unpaid vacation just to be on the safe side John. :D

cx
11-12-2002, 05:44 PM
Hey, flatfloor, some of youse guys already get more weeks of vacation than show up onna calendar.

I ain't payin' this big subscription fee for nothin' ya know. And some of the others are likely to catch on and stop payin', too.

And don't be tryin' to scare me with Uncle Vinnie, neither. Peoples hereabouts shoot them no-neck guys for fun, just to get their funny lookin' shoes.

Little more work, little less vacation.

Well, not you, Dave. I know you're new here and are helpin' John a lot, and prolly only gettin' eight or ten weeks vacation. It's them others that's abusing the program. :)

flatfloor
11-13-2002, 09:43 AM
Vinny has a neck you just have to dig for it. There's an old Sicilian saying; Un collo corto lo rende difficile usare un garrote. :D

Hobbit
11-13-2002, 03:05 PM
Jim:

Sicilian; that's kinda like eyetalian ain't it? Don't matter none, I can't speak that either;)

:):)

cx
11-13-2002, 03:25 PM
Me neither, but it sounds like maybe, "you can't cut a guy's throat if he ain't got no neck".

But who knows, flatfloor don't speak no Eye-talian, neither. :D

flatfloor
11-13-2002, 03:31 PM
How do you think I give Vinny his marching orders, in Chinese? ;)

Paul D.
11-14-2002, 03:41 PM
Well Dave,

Congratulations on the new appointment. Is this the first engineer on the board? 'Bout time. And a Michigander too for all that. There sure are a bunch of us involved in this board from the outset...must be something to that.

davem
11-14-2002, 07:28 PM
Thanks Paul,
Bob is the first, I think. Yeah, there's gotta be a correlation between the number of engineers and the success of this site, I just can't think of what it might be. :D

John Bridge
11-15-2002, 06:10 AM
It seems to me that engineers may have an affinity for doing loads of work for no pay. In taking this job Dave moved vertically -- downward. He WAS making a dollar an hour. :D

Paul D.
11-15-2002, 07:05 AM
In the consulting line (as well as others, like manufacturing), the tendency for engineers to do loads of work for no pay is cheerily known as: "the work ethic." :D
