HELP!

I recently bought a 10 year old home with a very poorly sealed Mexican tile kitchen floor.

There are thick and thin sealed areas and some that are very sticky with dirt. Can't clean it.

The floor really needs to be stiiped and resealed. Talked to my local Tile Shop here in Louisville and bought and tried their Superior Pro-Strip, didn't work, call Superior and they told me to try Klean Strip.

Long story shortened, after six hours and about 3 sq.ft. I gave and tried your Thread. Result: Hire a professional.

Where How to find a professional in Louisville, KY

Cargoose,

Welcome to the forums. You gotta first name? Can you post a picher or two to give us an idea of what you got to work with? Btw, 'picher' is the Boernese (Texan) equivalent to 'pictures' in other forums found elsewhere on the internet.

We've got a few pros on the forum who are very familiar with installation and maintenance of saltillo. Hopefully one of them will be in shortly to provide some direction. If all else fails, we'll see if one of the moderators would be kind enough to move your thread into the 'Cleaning, Restoration & Sealing' forum.

Cheers.

Welcome, Car. Please give us a first name to use. :)

The one time I had a Saltillo floor re-finished for a customer I was sooooo very glad I hired someone to do it. Sooooo very, very, glad. :shades:

I'll add your location to your title (if I can figger out how) and move it over to the Cleaning, Sealing & Restoration forum for a while. Not getting any action there, we'll try the Professionals' Hangout.

Young Scott's fast, ain't he? :D

Who is the guy that registered here a while back that has the Saltillo business in Dallas? Austin? Somewhere in Tejas? He had a Spanish name...and a good website...he really seemed to know his Saltillo business.

The TIle Shop (the actual name of the store) in Lexington KY has a list of preferred installers/restorers. I know you have one in Lousiville. Ask for Jeff. Tell him Brad Rust sent you.

Hi Brad :)

Thanks for the referral. Hopefully Carol will check him out.

Hi Rob :)

I believe you're referring to Hector Macias (http://johnbridge.com/vbulletin/member.php?u=5366) . Both Hector and Brian Yager (http://johnbridge.com/vbulletin/member.php?u=6088) give excellent Saltillio advice. Hopefully one of them will chime in here!

Hector Macias is the guy in Ft. Worth, Rob. That's a long way from Kentucky. I know you weren't a Geography major, but still..............:D

Maybe hector will know somebody out that way. I'll ping him if ain't nobody else done so.

I done pingged him anyway, even if somebody else did already. :)

JK,

Ud. esta en lo cierto. ¡Gracias!

Kelly

Yes, I know that Tejas isn't near anything. My thought was that Carol could view Hector's website for info or maybe contact him for advice via that thing called the telephone.

Oh, no hey de que, amigo. :D

Ms. Carol:

Mr. Hector says to me that he will make some calls to persons known to him in your area and see if he can find someone. If he does, it will likely be someone good. :)
