New cleaning job, completely loose floor tiles in bath area. Same question?

Any method of setting tiles without removing old thinset?

There are injectible epoxies for those times when it is 100% installation error with regard to an inadequate amount of thin set mortar.

If it is possible that the issue is deflection because of other errors, then replacement is the responsible answer.

Hi George :)

What size are the tiles?

What is the condition of the grout?

How many square feet is affected?

Is this commercial or residential?

What is the subfloor, wood frame or concrete slab?

Epoxy injection is one option, but it needs to be qualified as a candidate first.

4 inch square tiles. Looks to be 2 - 3 sq.ft. affected. Residentail bath area floor with wood subfloor. Many tiles completely seperated from thinset, cleanly at surface of thinset. Thinset smooth in some places, other has large cracks.

Hi George :)

This sounds like the thinset skinned before the tiles were set. As long as delflection is not a issue, this would be a perfect application for epoxy.

It sounds like you can remove the tiles. It is critical the the same tiles go back in their original location, properly orientated. The area must be thoroughly cleaned as well.

Sounds like something the customer can handle and I can clean up the area for prep.

Thanks.

Suggestion on epoxy product?
