I realize this is largely a matter of opinion - but you folks have seen a lot more tile than I have so I trust yours better than mine.

Using Polyblend unsanded and the box recommends SurfaceGaurd Penetrating sealer. I bought this and was going to use it on both the floor and the shower surround.

As I get ready to seal the shower surround, though, I am wondering if something with a little more gloss might look better ie - blend better with the tile.

The wall is 3x6 Arctic White subway tile that DalTile calls semi-gloss -- but it looks pretty glossy to me -- The grout is PolyBlend unsanded bright white.
Do any of you have opinions on a whether or not a glossy finish on the grout would look better? if so -- can you recommend one?

I'm assuming - having not read different - that the SurfaceGuard is fine as far as repelling water -- and this is just a cosmetic question.
If there are issues I am missing -- please let me know.

You might check this product out, i've never used it, and don't know how it works on grout....http://www.aquamix.com/for_professionals/products/pg_detail.asp?pdid=2732&pgid=37155

Got the grout up -- looking at it I think a no-sheen surface will look fine.
If I decide different later - I assume I can always go back with some kind of surface sealer.
SO --
Unless unless there is a difference in water repelling - unless the glossy sealer would be better in that regard --
Probably just gonna stick with the SurfaceGaurd for both the floor and the shower surround.

If anyone thinks this is a bad idea - you have about 48 more hours to warn me :-)

It IS ok to seal after 72 hours isnt it? 1/8th " lines.
