Any thing different about thin-set used for a shower floor? I was planning on using a mix-your-self latex modified thin set. I did notice a pre-mix bucket stated not for use in wet location or under shower floors. Was just wondering if this is the same for the mix-your-own?

Welcome!! NEVER use pre-mix for a shower. In fact, the folks here will tell you never use it for any reason. It has to do with the way it dries. In a wet area, pre-mix will never dry.

Check out the liberry for info on doing showers. Lots of help there and lots of helpful people in this site. Glad you joined us.

I am definitly going to use the bagged mix-yourself thin set. I wouldn't want to dish out 40 bux for a 3.5 gallon pail of pre-mix anyway.

You're right. $40 is a lot to pay for a 3.5 gallon bucket, and the bucket is the only part worth using.
