Is this possible? My wife swears she smells it in there.

Lets see what does mold like to eat?
Water--yep there is moisture in an AC unit.
Organic food--possibly there is dust or dirt, both of which would provide Mr. Mold with a nice bedtime snack.

Hell yeah, it's probably moldy. Damn New Yawkers ain't s'posed to have AC, anyway. Only get to use it a month or two out of the year. :D
I second, err . . . third the 'hell ya' Jim
Like Scooter said, it's the condensation. Most of the window shakers can be cleaned up. The guts usually come out of the can and a guy can hose and douche 'em out. Just don't hit the fan motor windings with a direct spray. (letting it dry in the sun for half a day before plugging it back in ;))

As long as it isn't the killer mold, you should be ok.:)

"FlatFlooritis" just don't have the same ring as "legionnaire's disease".
PS Flat. Sure cure fer AC mold is either gargle regularly wif Lysol or change to a cheaper brand of Tequila. ... .. .:sheep:
