I have just learned for the first time that there is such a thing as a "Tile Installation Level". "Imagine That"?

I don't see where they are showing any prices so Amazon may be the best bet.

Amazon has a lot of tools in their site. Some that are hard to find.I have been looking for a small rolling scaffold to use in baths where I tile to the cieling.Couldn't find it anywhere till I went to Amazon and there it was...folds flat, has two poly platforms and is compact so getting in a small room isn't a problem....$189.00

Hey Bud,you ever seen them knee-pads that look like a shallow mudpan? They're called "knee boards". Looks like they would be great for saving boots.BonTool Co. has them for $65 - over $100

Bud,
I went to Stabila's website.Sent for their catalog.I saw the "Tile Level" but I think the "Masons Level" would be more useful.I'm curious to find out what makes it a tile level.

I'm still interested in knowing how hard you can beat on the thing before it rebels.

Just bought a pair of new knee pads. Gel filled, saw 'em had to have 'em, 30 bucks.

I keep fallin' off the damned things so now they are back in the truck and I'm usin' my old ones.

Keith,
I got a 4' and 2' Stabila levels.Aren't they the best levels?Easy to clean the mud off too. However, sometimes I still use a $6.00 plastic 2' level when I'm getting thinset everywhere just so I don't get my Stabila dirty.I only use that one when nobody is watching.Stabilas don't look too tough but mine have been through a lot of abuse and are still true.Don't ever lend them out though.I lent a guy two of my 1 1/2"x3" aluminum straight-edges that I use to mud floors,a 7' and a 9',and the guy was using them as supports for a ramp to walk on.

When I used to work on large sites, I found it better to keep the edges and the bubbles clean and leave the rest dirty - that way a possible thief looked at it and thought it was crap, and walked off with a nice clean one. This has happened to me.

Okay, I'm going to try a Stabila next time I'm in the market.

BTW, I've used the Barwalt grout system on three jobs now and am completely sold on it. Doesn't work quite as easily as it does in their video, but it works fine, and it's quick.
