 I have an Art Deco house with a Terazo front porch. As it is 80 years old there has been some movement and cracks through it.
I understand that I can clean it with dilute HCl acid but how do I repairs the cracks?
Anyone got any ideas?

Hi Spanner, Welcome! :)
Anyone have any ideas to what Spanners first name is? :shades: :D (Please share. )
Seriously, you need to enlarge the crack, and get matching aggregate and matrix (more than likely cement). Please share a picture. There are very few people these days that can make a nice repair, but it is possible.

However it should be said that the negetive stimuli that generated the cracking should also be ascertained so as to ensure permanence. Freeze / thaw cycles combined with shifting and settlement make for a condition where as a warranty of a subsequent repair is dubious.

Hi Spanner :)
Michael brought up some great points. I also forgot to mention to use caution while using the hydrocloric acid. Personally, I'd like to see you use one of the blended acids (if any at all). It all depends what the surface looks like. With terrazzo you could do a good alkaline cleaning, followed by diamond honing and/or polishing.

Thanks fellas for the advice.
I guess the reason for the cracking is its 80 years of wear and tear and some movement in the base of the house.
I have tried to attatch 2 photos of it to give some idea.
I am really enjoying this site. I liken it to a blokes tool shed, but on the internet where guys meet to talk tools
