We just purchased a house and the grout lines were dirty as can be.
Spent a lot of hours and have been able to get them in
pretty decent shape.
Now we want to seal the grout. The tiles are glazed ceramic and
we don't have to worry about them.
we wanted to know what sealer sould we use. BulletProof is out
due to its cost. We were leaning towards the Impregnator Pro, BUT
the company site recommends against using it.
Read at:
http://www.stonetechpro.com/products/protect/ip/

They are suggesting that we use Heavy Duty Sealer.

We even called and they confirmed that Heavy Duty Sealer
is just as good (if not better).

What do you guys think/recommed? What has been your experience?

Thank You All

Vol -

I'd lean the other direction on the sealer cost. I refuse to buy the cheap stuff.

If you paid $45,000 for a gorgeous Volvo (I know, you'd never buy a Volvo, but just play along for the sake of argument), would you then refuse to buy new oil for it, because of cost? Which costs more?

Buy the best sealer you can for your much more expensive floor and you be happy. Buy the cheap stuff and you will have 7 years of bad luck and unhappy ugly grout experiences.

Good sealers are all at or over the $100 per gallon level. 'Tis true.

Hi VolvoVixen, Welcome! :)

Can you share a first name with us? :shades:

I try to follow manufacturers recommendations. We use Heavy Duty Sealer all the time for grout. You may need to do two applications. Depending how much area you have, more than likely you'll have plenty left in the bottle to apply as many coats as you need. We like to recommend waiting overnight between coats, even the Stone Tech will recommend to apply same day.
