I am planning to use Aqua Mix Professional Enrich'N'Seal on 16x16 travertine floor tile and 4x4 travertine tumblestone. I would appreciate any and all opinions of this product.

Also, should I seal the tumblestone on all sides prior to installation? I am planning to use it in a shower on the walls.

done't seal prior to installation especially on the back. Mortar won't adhere like it should.
did you do a search here for trav. sealing. there is a lot of info regarding sealing it. Some believe that because of the way if was formed in nature in a wet setting it really doesn't need it. Others like a penetrating sealer. I don't think the sealer you have is.
Good luck

I love the Aqua-Mix products on honed and filled materials ........ I do, however, prefer the solvent-based sealers (which have a varnish element in them) for all tumbled products

Does Enrich and Seal darken and intensify colors while adding a slight gloss? If so, that's what's called an enhancer.

Enhancers really change the look of the stone, pretty permanently. If you like it, great. If not, ....

You might want to try a sample on a tile and look at it in various lights (daylight and night lighting)

If you like it, go with it. If not, you would be glad to avoid it.

The Enrich'N'Seal is an enhancer and it is a solvent based penetrating sealer. I like the effect that it has on my floor tile so I guess I'm good to go.

I was really wondering about whether or not to seal the tumblestone that I am going to use on the shower wall on the back. Someone told my wife that they had done it and that I should too. I was suspicious because I thought that is may have an adverse effect on the tile adhering to the adhesive I am using.

Thanks for the help.

If you seal the backs of the stones, I would expect that you won't get much of a bond. Most sealers, even penetrating ones, leave a surface coating of some kind. That's what you'll be bonding to, the coating, not the stone itself.

Hi NV, Welcome! :)

Could you share a first name with us? :shades:

To confirm all the recommendations here, do not seal the backs.

Thanks for the additional confirmation on not sealing the backs of the stones.

My name is Neal Von Almen. Somehow I got my email address as my user name. I didn't intend to do that.

I know that the FAQ's say that the moderator will not usually change user names but I'm going to ask any way.

Will the moderator please change my user name to my first name, Neal, instead of my email address as it is currently.

I will very much appreciate that if it is done.

Cheers!
