We just laid a Golden Green Honed Slate floor for our kitchen remodel. As we ran short of raw material (I underestimated), the floor was not complete and I did not seal the slate. Before the new material came in and we finished the floor, my wife (always blame it on the wife) started cooking in the kitchen and now we have lovely spots on the floor. I have tried to remove with a degreaser but no such luck. Any suggestions other than ripping up and replacing the tiles.

Hi RFH, Welcome! :)

How do you pronounce that? Seriously, would you mind sharing a first name with us? :shades:

You're going to need a poultice. Depending on what type of degreaser you have, you might be able to use that. We need a brand name and product description if you still have it. Or..... We have some Stone Tech Oil Stain Remover available from our online store.

Name's Robert, sorry about that

All I have tried to use was Krud Kutter which says it is a contentrated cleaner, degrease/stain remover. It does even come close to removing it.

Hi Robert

What kind of splatter - fat or something like juice or tamato sauce? The different kinds will need different approaches, so if you could identify the spots, we could suggest a solution. :yeah:

And now, to show off my literary education, I'll quote Shakespeare: "Out damned spot, out!"

There - now this thread has some depth :D
