Read it, and it took a long time considering I had to go off every page it seems and read something else to help explain some back story.
My opinion is it presents a rather bleak picture of colonial powers, super powers, and even a bleak picture of the people themselves governing themselves.
Since you recommended it, please lets restarrt the discussion about Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia Iran, and Israel.
Finally, what besides fundamentalism or marxism would inspire fractious groups to live harmoneously?
