Hey all,
What do you think of a guy that busts your chops al day for cutting two (2") off of your 8" Marshalltown margin trowel. Well I had a really nice Marshalltown margin trowel, you know the one's with enough steel to use as a chisel in a pinch . I had the little guy for all of 8 or 9 years, served me well untill one fine day the tang came off, (JayLuPark, I was using it as a chisel on this accasion). Probably would have lasted another 20 yrs if it wasn't for the abusive use.
Any way, I purchased another one (Marshalltown 8" margin trowel). After trying to use this monsterously long instrument (The manufacture must have pounded out a 6" to make an 8" to save on steel cost) I prompting went over to my trusty MK, and quickly turned this thing into a 6" margin trowel. Man you should have seen this guys cry (JayLuPark). When I get back to my shop I'm gonna turn down a nice piece of maple for the handle too. What'da ya think of them apples JayLuPark? Any takers on a nice newly modified Marshalltown Margin Trowel -w- Maple handle. I'll even cut three inchs off if you like.

Just razzing a newbie all. Please take no offence at my defiance of nice tools and workmanship.

Peace
Neil :lol2:

Ya want pics of the Evil villian cutting the tool, or the recently deceased, perhaps the newly modified version.
As for the Pink Velvet. Perhaps we can addd a touch of red vegitable coloring to some Ultraset to make for a really super tool, (Oh Bing IDEA) can't do that, my wife might get the wrong idea.

Does your Wife beg? Mine begs every time I don't finish a project, She begs me to come out from under the bed as she's been chasing me around with that might wooden spoon she yeilds. :lol2:

What's so complicated about wielding an 8" tool, Neil? The model 58 is all I'll buy. When the corners start to go round, I trim it off till I get a pair of sharp corners again. When it gets down to about 4 1/2", I toss it to a helper. Can't stand the thought of workin with a short tool.

58 is too long for me, i buy the 56. 54 is too short. I dont trim my margy,
id rather buy a cheap putty knife for grouting and trim that sob with my
tin snips.
